Portrait Advice

engage with the people to get them to pose, don’t ask them to pose
no “busy” clothing or background
- solid colors, enhance eyes
mix up shot distances, angles
soft light in shade, golden hours

Posing

face toward main (nose shadow)
shoulders not straight
arms not at side contact
keep catchlights in eyes
- if chin moved down, move down main light also
spine not vertical, shoulders not horizontal
YOUR face = clients face, so be happy/engaging
